Women of the Word Ministries is an online spiritual mentoring ministry based in Mobile, Alabama. Our goal is to offer a safe living environment for addicted, homeless, and previously incarcerated women once The Jordan House is setup.
More than seven years ago, Tanya Jones, the minister of Women of the Word Ministries began ministering to women who were incarcerated in the Mobile County Metro Jail. Mrs. Jones later became the first female chaplain. During this time God gave her a vision to start a transitional home for women after learning of the existing revolving door within the jail system. These women often had no where to go upon release causing them to return to a life style of drugs, prostitution, homelessness and once again incarceration. Now after much prayer and God's favor the vision of "The Jordan House" a safe & sober living arrangement is about to become a reality.
